Sensitivity of Eucalyptus Clones to Herbicides Associated with Foliar Fertilizers

چکیده

Postemergence application of herbicides can cause phytotoxicity problems in eucalyptus seedlings. Foliar fertilization improve seedling development and mitigate the effects on eucalyptus. Thus, objective this work was to evaluate sensitivity clones subjected applied postemergence associated with foliar fertilizer. For this, a field experiment carried out products indaziflam, clomazone, glyphosate + S-metolachlor, sulfentrazone, diuron plus an additional fertilizer (composition g/L 78, 13, 40.3, 1.17, 0.78, 16.9, 14.3, 0.52, 29.9, respectively, for C, N, S, B, Co, Fe, Cu, Mn, Mo, Zn). Height, stem diameter, shoot dry mass, chlorophyll content, visual intoxication were analyzed variables. The indaziflam S-metolachlor most harmful tested clones, interfering growth Among evaluated Clone AEC 144 had more significant changes variables treatments application. seedlings generally sensitive herbicides. reduced caused by 056. intensified treatment symptoms clomazone sulfentrazone 2034.

Metabolic responses to water deficit in two Eucalyptus globulus clones with contrasting drought sensitivity.

We compared the metabolic responses of leaves and roots of two Eucalyptus globulus Labill. clones differing in drought sensitivity to a slowly imposed water deficit. Responses measured included changes in concentrations of soluble and insoluble sugars, proline, total protein and several antioxidant enzymes. In addition to the general decrease in growth caused by water deficit, we observed a dec...

Barriers to Foliar Penetration and Uptake of Herbicides

To be effective, herbicides must enter the plant. This process can occur very quickly or very slowly, depending on the herbicide, formulation, plant, and environmental conditions. For foliar applied (postemergence) herbicides, penetration and uptake can occur through cracks in the leaf surface, stomatal cavities, or by diffusion through the cuticle. Other surface features of the leaf such as tr...

Cristulariella moricola associated with foliar blight of Camden white gum (Eucalyptus benthamii), a bioenergy crop

We report the association of Cristulariella moricola (Hino) Redhead with a zonate leaf spot on Eucalyptus benthamii (Myrtaceae). We observed the disease outbreak across a series of experimental E. benthamii plantings in Barnwell County, South Carolina, USA in October 2015. The disease caused nearly complete foliar necrosis of most trees in one experimental planting, but disease incidence remain...

Compatibility of Insecticides, Fungicides, and Foliar Fertilizers on Watermelon

Insecticides, fungicides, and foliar fertilizers are all used in the production of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris L.) in Florida. In certain areas of the state, particularly in south Florida, pesticides are commonly applied at 5-7 day in tervals to maintain disease and insect control. Growers with large acreages combine insecticides and fungicides so that both can be applied at the required sho...

Foliar-applied Nitrogen Fertilizers in Spring Wheat Production

C admium (Cd) is a nonessential heavy metal that can cause kidney problems. Diet is the main source of Cd for nonsmokers, with cereal products, including pasta, accounting for up to 20% of the daily intake of Cd. The current official standard for maximum level of Cd in durum wheat grain as stated by the Codex Alimentarius Commission is 0.2 ppm. The European Union has adopted this level as the m...
